Good Morning!

It's been a long time coming, but I'm finally working again. Since it's been more than a year since I painted, I'm very out of shape. I've been working through some beginner exercises and painting some studies, but coming back from a break that long is difficult.

Since I moved last July, work on the house and studio has taken most of my time. I have been gathering photos and still life items to paint. Living in the high desert with a lot of space around me has yielded beautiful sunsets and rusty treasures. I take long walks and find the most unusual things. Like the thorny things in the painting above. I have no idea what they are.

Everything here is different. The light, the skies, the colors. I've been working on a few landscapes and have been trying to capture the colors here that are sometimes elusive.

I'm glad to be back. Daily paintings should follow. Thanks for waiting.
