Oil painting on canvas, "GAPE #1"

"Gape #1"
Oil painting on canvas
18 x 24 Inches
Sides are painted
Available at www.de-yong.com
Good Morning,
I've been working on another abstract series. The "gape" can be seen as many things. I don't like to go into great detail... it ruins the viewer's imagination regarding the piece. There are more to this series, big and small. I plan to show one here and there until I'm done with the series. It's really hard to get a good photo of these... There are a lot of subtle nuances in the colors. I hope you can enjoy these.

Oil painting on canvas,"Big Three"

Good Morning!
Sometimes it's good to not explain, but to allow the painting to speak for itself. I'm doing that today... Take from it what you will. If you have any opinions about it or would like to make a statement, I would enjoy hearing from you.
It's a busy week for me, so I'm off to run errands, packaging and shipping...Hopefully some painting will also get done..
Until tomorrow.

Oil painting on canvas,"What Jack Saw"

"What Jack Saw"
Oil on canvas
12 x 16 Inches
Sides painted and gallery wrapped
Sold.
Good Morning,
While I was painting this, I couldn't help but wonder about the irony of the landscape.
It's very centered and even. Some would say to change it, make it uneven, it's too
centered. But this painting is of the landscape in Jackson Pollock's back yard. I took
the photo when I visited the Pollock-Krasner house in Springs, NY. This is what Jack
saw every day when he walked from his home to his studio. This very even, very flat
landscape. I have to wonder how he must have envisioned this scene. Something to
think about, I guess.
Until tomorrow,
Glynis
