Good Morning,
I've been working hard to finish these paintings. Every so often, it's good to paint someone or something different. I try to mix it up by doing a painting "by request".. once in awhile. I find that doing a painting that is requested forces me to focus in a different way. It's really good exercise. So, here they are.
Until tomorrow,

Leftover canvas
Good Morning,
I have been painting, but I'm not finished with anything, so have nothing to show.
In addition, this weekend was spent doing unglamorous things like stretching canvas.
I do my own, so that I can control the quality of canvas that I use. I usually prime my own smaller canvases as well.
Recently, I found a good deal on a large roll of primed cotton canvas. I really liked it for the large paintings. I stretched some smaller sizes and it's really good for that, too. So, I went in with a friend and we purchased a large amount of it.
Stretching unprimed canvas isn't really a problem.. scrap can be used for lots of things, rags, even patching jeans. Primed canvas is different. When it's cut in different sizes, there's always strips left over. I try to cut mine carefully and measure it to avoid this, but it always happens. I use small scraps to test washes and other things, but I always end up with some.
If you have any ideas on creative ways to use small pieces of canvas (I REFUSE to paint on anything smaller than 9 x 12 inches, stretched)... let me know..
Paintings to show tomorrow... promise.
