Good Morning!
It's been awhile since I've done a daily painting specifically for the blog. As promised, a few posts ago, here it is. I must say it felt really good to do this little painting. I have been working on larger canvas and with acrylic paint. I have to admit I prefer oil paint.
The pears are very colorful and tasty this autumn. I love to paint them, as many artists do.
I hope you like these.
Until tomorrow,
Glynis

A very artful weekend.

Good Morning,

I had a weekend of artistic successes.. I put 2 paintings in an exhibit at the HILLSBOROUGH VINEYARDS, Hillsboro, VA... I got a call on Saturday that the painting 'Bluebells#2' (shown above) was sold. This really made me happy. The economy isn't at it's best and I was thrilled that someone bought this painting, anyway. I still have another painting at the winery, "The Last Season" shown below.

The Hillsborough Vineyards is a beautiful place. They invite the Loudoun Sketch Club to come out and paint their beautiful landscape and then they have a Fall Show for sketch club members.

There is a critique with a well known artist and a reception for the artists. I attended the reception yesterday. It was really wonderful. If you get a chance to go to Hillsborough Vineyards, you should certainly do it. Good food, wine, surroundings and ART! What could be better?? Especially since winter is just around the corner.

I also had 2 paintings juried into the "League of Reston Artists" show.. It's at the University of Phoenix in Reston VA. This show is open to the public and runs until the end of the year. I saw quite a bit of the work when I dropped off my paintings.. It's a good show.

I hope you will get a chance to see some art, in person. If not here, then somewhere else. It's healthy and most times it's free, too.

Tomorrow, the finished "Canyon of Fear"

Until then,

Glynis
