Oil on canvas, "At World's End"

"At World's End"
Oil on canvas
16 x 22 Inches
Sides are painted and gallery wrapped
Good Morning,
I worked on this painting last week and was "on the fence" about it's completion. Sunset on the ocean makes me feel like I'm looking out to the edge of the world. Montauk is particularly this way because you can actually see a curve in the horizon line. I just think that's as cool as seeing the dark side of the moon! Ok, maybe I'm easily awed..
I'm back in the studio and have plans to be there today. Autumn is my favorite time of year and I have a lot of ideas right now. I am still working on the large abstracts and hope to finish one today.
Enjoy,
Glynis

Another Busy Week

Good Morning,

It's been very busy here, and I have not painted since Saturday. I took a few days to pull out my garden and pickle the last of the tomatoes. While I was winterizing the outside, I planted some bulbs so that I have still life subjects in the spring. I trimmed the roses and mulched.

Now that we're all settled in for winter, I'll be back at the easel today. I have 2 large canvases that I have been working on. Hopefully I'll finish one and have it to show you tomorrow.
Until then,
Glynis

Oil painting, "Three Barrels"

"Three Barrels"
Good Morning,
Becky and I went out Friday and painted at the mill. We were there as a demo (set up and paint, answer questions, etc.). I'm always surprised to see so many people at the mill on a weekday. It was chilly and we had plenty of subjects right there. The shop across the street had hot soup and coffee so we were reasonably comfortable. We stayed for about 2.5 hours.
All the pleinair painting this summer really made this demo easy. It was a good day and a really fun way to volunteer. We're going to do it again in the spring.
Until tomorrow,
Glynis
