Oil Painting,"Low Tide"

"Low Tide"
Good Morning!
Many of the beaches in Montauk have a red/purple sand. As I was walking along at low tide, this beach was a bright magenta purple. This painting is not yet for sale because I'm not sure it's finished. The size is 22 x 26.
As you can see, I'm working on a more minimal style for my land and seascapes. I saw a lot of landscapes in the East Hampton galleries. I found the minimal, more abstract ones closer to my taste than those with more detail.
In the weeks to come, I plan a number of landscape paintings. It will be interesting to see how they evolve.
Until tomorrow,

Oil painting, Down to the Lake

Good Morning!

Today, I'm showing a painting from Montauk. The light in Montauk is different from anywhere else. I can see why so many people want to paint there. I visited a number of galleries in East Hampton and saw many of the scenes I have photographed and some that I have also painted. One of my favorites was a painting of the Montauk bluffs by Jessica McMann, done in 1925. I've also painted that scene, so it was fascinating.

This painting is available on my website: http://www.glynisberger.com/
Enjoy,

Good Morning!
I went back to my bluebell photographs in search of a small painting. The bluebell fields were so interesting yet challenging to paint. I've been working with landscapes quite a bit lately. Soon it will be warm and dry enough to paint outdoors, so I'm getting ready. Meanwhile, all this rain has done wonders for my garden.
Until tomorrow,

Oil painting, "Crooked Window"

Good Morning!

I spent the entire week and weekend catching up on things from our vacation. I was only able to complete one painting. It's on my website: http://www.glynisberger.com/ The name of the new painting is "Down to the Lake".

The auction is still on, so you still have time to bid on either my painting, or Winslow's. Looks like he's making some money for the hounds! I'm so proud of him.

This painting is one that I did while in Montauk. The image was based upon the fantastic old windows in the Burwell Morgan Mill where I volunteered at a recent art show. The building was fabulous and I was able to take some photos .

During the art show at the Mill in October, my friend Becky and I will be painting on site. I'm sure it will be a lot of fun.

This painting "Crooked Window" is also featured on my website. Here's a purchase link.

Until tomorrow,
