Oil painting-"Watson"

Good Morning!

I asked Olivia if she would permit me to share her portrait and she agreed. This is a painting of her dog "Watson". I think she did a fantastic job and Watson likes it, too.

I went out with Ute today, to paint. The weather was beautiful and once we started walking in the fields of bluebells, we just kept going. No painting, but I did take enough photos to do a painting or two. It was just too nice to stand still. Exploration is always good and I can use the exercise. It was a good hike in a beautiful forest. Thanks, Ute!

I hope to have a painting to show tomorrow.
Until then, please enjoy this wonderful painting of Watson.

$40.
Shipping $10
Good Morning!
This little painting is something I've been playing with for some time. I am working toward a large abstract, based on this scene. I have painted it before and each time it becomes more abstract. I think I'm ready to do the large one.
Yesterday was a busy day. My young artist friend finished her portrait, but we didn't have time to photograph it. I took Winslow for his swim at the Northern VA Swim Center. This is a swimming facility for dogs and horses. Winslow swims there for exercise since he can't run. It's a wonderful drive through the country to Middleburg. I had the opportunity to do a number of driveby photos. The prospects for a paintable one or two look good.
Today, I'm off to paint with my friend Ute. Our first outdoor paintings for this year. Hopefully I'll have something to show for it tomorrow.
Until then,
Glynis

Oil Painting "Montauk Morning"

"Montauk Morning"
Oil on canvas
9 x 12 Inches
This painting is not for sale at this time
Good Morning!
I have been thinking about Montauk lately. We go there every spring and I'm looking forward to the trip. I fully understand why so many artists made that area their home. Duchamp, Pollock and Krasner, Avedon and many others spent a lot of time in the area. The quality of light is amazing. I spend a lot of my time behind the camera, bringing home amazing photos to paint from. My paintings of Montauk are some of my favorites. This little study is yet another of my favorite area.
I'm sharing my studio with a young painter who has come to paint a portrait. Although I've been offering a bit of guidance, I'm not "teaching". The young woman is a painter in her own right and is doing a wonderful job. Hopefully, when her painting is finished, she will allow me to share it with my readers.
Until tomorrow,
Glynis

oil painting, "Pineapple"

Good Morning!

It's the beginning of another manic week at my house. I took some time to paint over the weekend, and managed to finish this painting. It is a larger painting than I like for the blog and it doesn't really qualify as a daily painting since I started it weeks ago. It's 16 x 20 and is available for purchase via my website. I plan to post it later today, so I will add a purchase link here. (I did add it, at the bottom of this post.)

The show at Millville will be opening April 26. I hope you will come out and see the work.
I will be volunteering on April 29 with my good friend and fellow painter, Becky. We'll be there from 12-5. If you have a chance, come out to Millville and visit us. It's a nice drive out in the country. Google "Burwell-Morgan Mill" or call 540-955-2600 for info. Lots of good art.

Until tomorrow,
Glynis
