Oil painting on canvas "Old Stories

"Old Stories"
Oil on canvas
14 x 18 inches
Sides painted and gallery wrapped
Good Morning!
I have been spending a lot of time on the larger paintings, so it felt good to take some time with the oil paint and smaller canvas.
I noticed that even in this troubling economic environment, art is not drying up. It's flourishing more than ever. I think people need art in bad times. Seems true also that artists need to create in tough times. Maybe even more than in good times. I know it's true for me. When things aren't perfect, I need to work.
There are a lot of handmade goods out there during this holiday season, whether it's art or craft. Many of us are trying to make things better by shining a small bit of light through our creations. I hope you will share in this holiday season by purchasing hand made goods, art or craft. You will be helping an artist and giving a thoughtful and likely one of a kind gift.
Since you can get art and craft online, at your local art galleries and craft fairs, you will also be able to avoid the mall traffic and all the unpleasantries that seem to go along with mall shopping.
You can find good art and craft in all price ranges, sizes, shapes and colors, too.
So, support your local artists, have a wonderful holiday season...
I'm taking a couple of days off..(to paint) and will likely resume this blog
Monday, Dec. 1.. Only a few days away and much painting to do.
Until then, Happy Thanksgiving.
Glynis
