Good Morning!
Business first: I was told yesterday that my paypal buttons weren't working! This is awful.
I managed to fix them. Although they seem to be lower on the page than I like, they work now.
I apologize and hope if you tried to use them you will try again!
Now, for the fun stuff:
This little painting is one I did in Montauk. Although the scene is from Indiana, I painted it in Montauk. The reason I don't paint outdoors in Montauk is simple. I go there very early in the spring while it's still cold and windy. Not good for painting outdoors. When there is a break in the weather, I go out with my camera and photograph everything I can. I try to do this from horseback so that I get a ride, too. I have a friend, Dawn, who understands this and owns horses. She takes me to the best sites for photographs. An excellent photographer, she understands when the light is the best. Thanks to Dawn, I am able to take super photos to paint from.
It's easy to see why so many famous artists vacationed or lived in that area. The DeKoonings, Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner, Marcel Duchamp and many others. Dawn and her friend Kathy took me around to see some of the galleries in the area. I saw some excellent work by Wolf Kahn, Clifford Smith and numerous other landscape painters. The Hamptons are very glamourous, but rich in art, as well.
I love going to Montauk. Winslow has a great time on the beach and I gather ideas. It's a perfect vacation.
Until tomorrow,
Glynis
